Climbing trees higher than I should. Jumping off walls just to see if I could land it. Never backing down from a dare.
I didn’t realize it back then, but that restless energy — that instinct to try — was courage.

Stepping Into the Unknown
Years later, that same courage showed up again — not on a playground, but in the biggest decision of my life.
I left Brazil with my husband and our one-year-old baby to start from zero in a country where I barely spoke the language and knew little about the culture.
In Brazil, families stay close, often living near each other for life. Most people only move out after getting married (not my case). So when I decided to leave with my husband and baby, it felt almost rebellious — like stepping into the unknown without a map.
But I went anyway.
That decision — uncomfortable, lonely, and full of uncertainty — taught me more about courage than any mountain I’ve ever climbed. It taught me that courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s moving forward despite it.
Courage Grows With You
Years passed, and that same courage helped me grow into a CMO in the U.S. — working in two new languages: English and Spanish — and eventually launch my own business.
